Once Upon A Time, one guy worked for a company that created challenges for other big companies. The company spent hundreds of thousands of dollars – or even more – to make software to run these challenges for the other big companies. Each time the software was pretty much the same. The guy thought “Why don’t we just build it once? And let anyone in the world create a challenge and reward their participants any way they want to?”… and so Slap was born.
Social Learning and Payments, Inc. means we learn from each other socially and in groups, and we reward – or pay – for their contributions in any way we like. With money, lunch, gift card, or even a song. Anything.
The Slap Team
You can find all the typical stuff about our team elsewhere. Instead, here are answers to important questions that we think provide much better insights about our people.
Favorite restaurant – anywhere in the world? BRB
Your personal hero? BRB
What do you bring to Slap? BRB
What do you bring to Slap? I busted the door open with the feminine side. Did think guys would do this without a female handprint?
Your personal hero? My hero is my grandfather. He survived being a pilot in WWI, flying one of those open-air planes. He took care of everyone; family, friends and strangers and especially my grandmother. He taught me the multiplication tables.
What is the first album you ever purchased? Music wasn’t on the preferred list; I bought fabric to make clothes so I would be like the emperor.
Who are your personal heroes? The 1969 New York Mets and the 1980 US Olympic Hockey Team. I love rooting for the underdog who can come out of nowhere, ascend to the top and captivate the imagination.
What subscription plan could you never live without? I think they designed the infinite minute and data plans for me. Someday, I hope to be voted into the Verizon Wireless Hall of Fame.
What do you bring to Slap? I am a serial entrepreneur because I love being involved in things that can change the world.
Favorite restaurant – anywhere in the world? “Le Relais de Venise”, also known as “L’entrecote.” Two rounds of delicious steak with a special sauce, frites, walnut salad, and bread. There is no menu. No other options. Except wine and dessert – there is a menu for that.
What is the first album you ever purchased? Ace Of base. On cassette tape. I think Mariah Carey was one of the first as well. I need to make known that my taste has drastically changed since then.
What do you bring to Slap? I bring a dash of humor, a scoop of organization, a slathering of innovation, and a helping of logic. I’m hungry.
Favorite restaurant – anywhere in the world? M on the Bund, in Shanghai, China
A little known fact about you? I was deported from Italy as a college student b/c I did not have a current visa (and was not traveling on a US passport). After being held and questioned by armed police for quite a while, I was escorted out of the country on the first train back to Monte Carlo.
What is the first album you ever purchased? I’ve never purchased music for me or anyone else.
